PREPARING FOR FOOD LOVING HOLIDAYS

PREPARING FOR FOOD LOVING HOLIDAYS

When it comes to holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, eating without a flare can be like walking a tight rope. Planning your day is extremely important. There are a few things to consider before any big family meals this holiday season I want to put down so you can refer back to this article when you have questions or you get to meal planning time.

Lets start with the simple reminders:

1️⃣. Slippery elm taken before meals produces a protective mucus that mimics your body’s natural protective digestive lining that’s damaged. Taking 3-6 capsules a few minutes before meals to help coat the meal and protect your gut as the meal moves through should be non negotiable.

2️⃣. Family events are often stressful… Stress produces stomach acid and can assist in causing flares. We suggest taking Rachel’s Pro Curcumin Phytosome turmeric supplement to help balance your mood and take the edge off. If you start to feel overly stressed or know something is going to happen that might be hard to deal with, take an extra for 2 daily instead of 1 until the situation moves past.

3️⃣. Drink Rachel’s Digestive Relief Tea morning and evening whether you feel you need it or not to help reduce inflammation. DO NOT mix. Carbs and proteins within 4 hours. Follow your eat out guide and book rules attached to this email.

I like to eat the heavy protein and W veggie items early… The first sitting is usually: Turkey/ham, green beans, salad, broccoli, cauliflower, summer sausage, etc.

Then… 4-5 hours (possibly including a nap) later… Once that meal moves along, you can switch to the S foods. Now it’s time for mashed potatoes, pie, cake, sweet potatoes, yams, carrots, stuffing, cranberry sauce and more.

If you’re done with the P group, you can snack on the S and W foods through the evening…

Now… Keep in mind, foods you’re not used to or rarely eat might not go over well if you’re sensitive right now.

Use good judgment, if you’re flaring now or on the soft food phase of the diet, please don’t set yourself back by indulging too early because it could really ruin your holiday.

If you’re not sure about the foods you should be grouping or if you should be on soft or liquid foods right now please do give us a phone call so we can help you plan a bit.
